Gakwandi Claude is a seasoned entrepreneur and visionary leader in the higher learning ecosystem, with more than 18 years of professional experience spanning international education, project development, and trade finance. As the Founder of Study in Rwanda and a Board Member of Study in Africa,he has played a pivotal role in expanding access to global educational opportunities for African students while promoting strategic partnerships across continents.
Throughout his career, Gakwandi has established himself as a trusted consultant for universities worldwide. He has served as a Canadian university recruitment consultant for over 10 years, an 8-year consultant for British universities, and has spent 9 years collaborating with selected American universities. His portfolio further includes more than a decade of experience working with various European universities, making him one of the leading experts in international recruitment and global academic relations in the region.
In addition to his role in higher education,Gakwandi is deeply engaged in education project development, trade finance consulting and trade commodities advisory services. His expertise extends to career guidance, distance learning models and EdTech innovation experience he strengthened through his work with CENRWANDA. Known for his open minded approach and strategic thinking, he is recognized for designing scalable, commercially viable education and trade finance solutions.
Entrepreneurial at his core, Gakwandi maintains a forward-looking focus on emerging markets across Africa, the Middle East and Asia, identifying investment opportunities that drive inclusive growth and development. He strongly believes that Africa is one of the world’s richest and most promising continents and he continues to support its economic and educational transformation by offering free consultation services in trade finance, education and project management to individuals and institutions.
